BRIO Feasts on Falstaff

Set in 15th century Elizabethan England, Sir John Falstaff, a well-fed nobleman, arrives in Windsor down on his luck, and decides to try to seduce a mature married woman in order to gain some financial advantage. The music is presented ‘chronologically’, following the story-line through three different operas by Verdi (Italian), Nicolai (German) and Williams (English)…

The second half of the programme will feature instrumental music with a Suite for
Wind Sextet by Leos Janacek as well as flute music by Doppler, Ravel, Holst and Dvorak.

Performers: Janey MacKenzie (Soprano), Alison Hodge (Soprano),
Jody Orgias (Alto), Justin Pearce (Bass), Robyn Jaquiery (Piano),
Yumi Ikematsu (Flute), Phillip O’Malley (Piano), Tui Clark (Clarinet),
Justus Rozemond (Bass Clarinet), Dillon Mayhew (French Horn), Louise Cox (Oboe),
Jennifer Vaughan (Flute/Piccolo), Alex Chan (Bassoon).
