Jonathon Berkahn
Caprice Arts Trust - Composer, Organist, Pianist
Jonathan Berkahn came to Wellington in 1990 to study at Victoria University. Since then he has acquired a B Mus in composition, a B Mus (Hons) in performance (organ, harpsichord, and fortepiano), and an M Mus in music history. He studied with Douglas Mews. He has recently acquired a PhD in music history.
He is currently a full-time parent, part-time freelance musician, and director of music at St Barnabas' Anglican Church, Khandallah. He has accompanied many choirs and soloists in the Wellington region and around the lower North Island. On Monday nights he sings and plays accordion at the Molly Malone's Irish session.
