Angela Mote-Andrew
Caprice Arts Trust - Flutist, Saxophinist
Angela Mote is a graduate of the former Wellington Conservatorium of Music on classical flute and is a registered teacher. For the past ten years Angela has been working for Hagley Community College (Christchurch) as an itinerant teacher of music (flute, saxophone, clarinet, jazz and classical ensembles). Although her teaching background is primarily at high school level, Angela has a strong interest in introducing primary aged children to music and capturing their innate ability and enthusiasm for music.
Angela regularly performs on flute and saxophone and has been a member of Aeolus saxophone quartet and wind ensemble for the past four years. She has enjoyed the musical challenges and performance opportunities this has involved with the highlight being a concert performance at the Melbourne single reed convention in 2005.
Angela, her husband Jon, and children Ellesse (7) and Zoe (4) have recently moved from Christchurch to Wellington where she will be furthering her flute studies at the New Zealand School of Music.
